TIPS: How to measure your dog

It is important to choose the right coat size for your dog.
Your dog is always welcome in our shop in Antwerpen to choose and fit the ideal coat, but we are happy to give you the following tips to order the coat online.

Breeds and weights are given with the different sizes. These are just an indication, because every dog is unique.
To choose the best size you need to measure your dog: Back length (from base of neck to base of tail), Chest girth and Neck girth.

- Use a soft tape measure or wide rope to take the measurements. Do not use a hard straight ruler or carpenter's tape measure.
- When measuring the back length, your dog must be standing straight with his/her head up. If your dog is lying down or sitting, his/her back length will be longer than the actual length.
- Measure from the base of the neck (just in front of the shoulder blades) to the base of tail. Do not measure from where the collar sits.


If your dog is in between sizes with the dimensions, then its weight gives you extra information to make the right choice between those 2 sizes.

With these measurements you can choose the best Chilly Dogs coat.

For a Goldpaw Shirt you need a combination of the chest girth and the weight to choose the right size. These shirt don't need to reach the tail, they are mainly to protect the chest.

Need a Head Muff?
Measure the head circumference and the lenght (distance) from the top of head to the base of the neck.


This will help you to choosing the right size for your dog.
Of course, coming to the shop in Antwerpen with your dog is the most ideal, because the shoulder position of your dog, which is not measurable, also has influence on the size.
But in most cases you'll find the right size with the measurements as described.
