The Cat's Meow is a pet-actuated signalling device that comprises of one motion detector sensor and a wireless-based remote receiver placed inside the home. The motion detector sensor is activated when the pet nears the sensor, within 15 feet, which subsequently transmits a signal to the wireless-based remote receiver. The receiver emits a sound alert and/or flashes light to inform the owner that the pet wishes to enter the home.

After buying two of the type where the cat steps on a mat, which they did, but then the wiring broke off from my moving the mat around having to place it in a plastic to proect it from the rain..........I will NEVER buy another one of those again! I now own two of these motion activated sensors and just LOVE them! I started out buying one and ordered another so I have one of them set up at two different doors with each a different theme playing so I automatically know which door a cat is at. I never installed them permanently. One is outside by our deck door placed in a clear plastic container so it's protected from the rain and it works beautifully. The other is in our garage at that door into our kitchen so it's out of the rain there. I've moved them and used them at other doors too. Am considering a 3rd for the front door. I just absolutely LOVE these things as then I know when my kitties want to come in, AND I can see if they're bringing me a gift!!! I especially like them on the cold days and nights so I don't feel bad wondering if they're at the door wanting to come in when I've gone to bed. I very highly recommend these. People who have cats that go in and out..........this is the most wonderful thing to own!
